UGANDA: Gen. Kalekyezi arrest to benefit Rwandese dissidents more than Ugandans

GEN. KALEKYEZI ARREST TO BENEFIT RWANDESE DISSIDENTS MORE THAN UGANDANS

CHANGE OF GUARDS - Hon. Abiriga was the M.P for Arua Municipality who was murdered last week by unknown gunmen. Museveni immediately blamed the opposition before shortly after retracting his statement thus; "we can not rule out personal motives for the murder. However there is a high possibility that this was a political assassination".

Earlier on he had said; " Abiriga has been a staunch NRM supporter so by killing him they think they have killed the NRM party.......if other parties' manifestos can not win the majority to rule the country why should they kill to take power". Without doubt, such reckless statements bias and jeopardize investigations.

It is amidst that confusion that on 10th June 2018, a day after Hon. Abiriga was killed the Rwandese dissidents through their agent, a one Sseruga Titus took to social media to speculate on the motive of murder. They craftily reconstructed an old story of 2002 when Rwanda backed dissidents were allegedly linked to the shadowy PRA rebel group. They asserted that Abiriga had been killed by Kagame's CMI agents in retaliation for his role in capturing of a one PRA agent, Capt. Katabazi who had been buying arms in Arua. They went further to allege that PRA had linked with a Ugandan rebel group, UNRF II under Gen. Banuze for which Abiriga had been its point man.

Sseruga Titus is reknown for his social media stories linking former police chief, Gen. Kalekyezi to Rwanda. The recent revelation implied that it is Gen. Kalekyezi who had coordinated with the said Kagame agents to kill Abiriga. In their estimates they knew that if Museveni could buy into that version, then to their advantage his misunderstandings with Kagame would be heightened.

There is no doubt, Gen. Kalekyezi has been Rwanda's agent in monitoring the activities of the Museveni backed Rwandese dissidents in Uganda. However, linking the murder of Hon. Abiriga to Rwanda is far-fetched and a gamble of the year. Now, Gen. Kalekyezi has been arrested and the regime is yet to tell us the reason for the arrest. What is clear is that Museveni has been trying to clean his image over kidnap and return of refugees to Rwanda in order to protect his US Dollar refugee project.
