MUSEVENI GETS RELIEF FROM BOBI WINE'S 2021 AGENDA
CHANGE OF GUARDS ' "We are only left with two years and we shall show them what we are capable of come 2021. I encourage you to pick and keep your national identity cards. That’s all you need. Leave the rest to us,” Whatever we do minus getting an I.D doesn’t count”.
Bobi Wine - telling his crowds during his November 11 concert.
He also used the same occasion to shed more light on his political agenda thus;
“The elites keep asking me ‘What are your policy alternatives?’ I say what matters is for the people to reclaim their power and once we are in charge, we can determine which direction we want our country to take. Uganda remained a “time bomb” which would “explode soon. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.”
A day earlier on 10th November while appearing on Beat FM he had said;
"Let us go and get National IDs and prepare early enough to remove this cowboy from the presidential seat."
Ever since the youthful parliamentarian shot to prominence with his People Power movement that appeals to the disgruntled youth constituency, the Museveni regime has been 'chasing wind in the darkness'. Given the national, regional and international attention that he has captured, the Museveni regime all along thought that he was beant on mobilizing the youth for a mass uprising hence People Power. It for the same reason that regime took no chances in countering his influence.
He narrowly survived an assassination by Museven's bodyguarda in West Nile region that claimed the life of his driver. Cinsequently, he and other M.Ps were brutality arrested before being detained and charged with treason before the military court. Museveni swung into action by personally leading a campaign to dissuade the urban youth from supporting Bobi Wine. Museveni has been dishing out billions of Taxpayer's money to youth groups in Kampala city. He has been deploying Musicians and other celebrities on a smear campaign against Bobi Wine.
He has aggressively monitored, restricted and condemned Bobi Wine's links with foreign nationals and organizations. It in the same respect that Bobi Wine's recent concert dubbed "Kyarenga (its getting overboard)" was barred from taking place at the National Stadium. The regime feared that such a massive youth convergence could opt to storm the city center to demand for change of government. The latest measure is the deployment soldiers for policing the city and the consequental mass arrests of youths.
There is no doubt the Museveni regime has been undergoing immense and strenuous physiological and logistical fatigue owing to Bobi Wine's undeclared intentions. Now that he has clearly spelled out his 2021 agenda, the Museveni regime is relieved. In its estimates, Bobi Wine will be sorted out in the usual way come 2021. However, it will not take his declaration for granted for fear that it may be a deceptive move. Curtailing his civic and political engagements will continue.
INFORMATION IS POWER AND THE PROBLEM OF UGANDA IS MUSEVENISM
