By CHANGE OF GUARDS
"We should not let our children rear cattle for these Ankole pastoralists. They have grabbed our land to impoverish us. Why should we, the descendants of Nambi and Kintu, be enslaved by invaders? I call upon all Baganda to wake up now or we shall forever be slaves. Let's send away all the Banyankole back to their land."
Basajjamivule's social media video clips
Abbey Ssewakiryanga a.k.a Basajjamivule, Bwa Ddene (Fat dog), Nsolo kambwe (fierce animal) is a political commentator who had excelled in criticizing Museveni's 35 years dictatorial hold on power. Mivule came to prominence as a Presenter on Akaboozi Ku Biri FM and as a distinguished farmer of Rabbit and high breed dogs. At one time, the Buganda Kingdom assigned him to do mobilisation for its economic emancipation program. He was offered space at NBS Television for the Sunday afternoon talk show NBS Eagle where he initially appeared with Frank Gashumba. Around May 2017, they discussed the incident where a soldier was photographed kneeling before Katikiro Mayiga. Their discussions were branded 'poisonous' to the public and management bowed to the Museveni regime pressure and sought to bring in Muyanga Lutaaya as the moderator. Consequently, Frank Gashumba quit in protest.
NBS Eagle continued with Muyanga Lutaaya as the moderator and Basajjamivule and others as panelists. When Bobi Wine's People Power political platform came on the scene, Basajjamivule said on the show that it was dominated by moles planted by State House. Basajjamivule did not relate well with the moderator Muyanga Lutaaya. Around November 2018, Basajjamivule quit NBS Eagle citing witchunt by Muyanga Lutaaya;
"..... because I've been part of the NBS family. But hear this:. There is a devil, a real snake which I can never work with again. He made my life miserable, he never wanted me and another panellist on the show."
Muyanga Lutaaya accused Mivule of getting money from State House. Basajjamivule responded by branding Muyanga as a witch, wizard, sorcerer, hypocrite, liar and a wolf in a sheep skin before accusing him of solicting from Museveni through Brig. Kaka cash for recruiting all talk show hosts to the regime.
At the time, Basajjamivule, who was not an employee of NBS Television and only earning shillings 1m monthly for only being a panelisist, was said to have been in a bad financial standing. It is said his farm and residence at Nangabo had been seized by the Bank over a bank loan. He soon landed a job at Baba TV as its Manager where it was said he would earn a monthly salary of shillings 4m on top of being given a 30m down payment as a resettlement package. Since then, Baba TV is owned by the Museveni regime's Jinja East M.P, Moses Balyeku, Basajjamivule could not freely express his rant against the regime.
Around early last month (August 2020), Basajjamivule joined Bobi Wine's PP/NUP at a colourful reception ceremony. Mivule took to posting his self recorded video clips on social media platforms expressing discontent against the Museveni regime. Around late last month, the Bizonto comedy group made a show where they sarcastically urged Ugandans to pray for prominent leaders who were 'keeping the country together'. Bizonto mentioned such leaders in the police, army, intelligence services, URA, UNRA, EC, BOU, NSSF and other sectors. Because all such leaders hail from the western region, the Museveni regime construed it as an act of incitement and sectarianism. The Bizonto team members were arrested together with the Radio Simba Presenter. The regime Spokesman issued a stern warning;
"We want to implore you the media and the politicians that the government is going to be very decisive, very firm with anyone resurrecting sectarian tendencies."
A few days later, Basajjamivule was also arrested and taken before the Director of Crime Intelligence, Brig. Sserunjogi Ddamulira. Mivule was accused of inciting violence and promoting sectarianism in relation to the said video clips where he was grilled by the Electoral and Political Offences Unit. During the arrest he had said;
"I'm not a coward. What I have in my heart is what I speak. You can't say you have brought fundamental change yet what you are doing is what we witnessed in Amin and Obote regimes."
The Police CID Spokesman said that they were to forward the file to the DPP for perusal before Basajjamivule would be arraigned in court.
Owing to public pressure, Basajjamivule was granted a Police Bond and he immediately visited the PP/NUP offices to show his appreciation for the support they had demonstrated. However, shortly after, he embarked on posting video clips denouncing PP/NUP and praising Museveni. One such video clip was recorded within the premises of the CID Headquarters at Kibuli and it emphasised that Bobi Wine will never be President.
"God cannot allow drug addicts, hooligans, slanderers, abusive people and homosexuals to get hold of Uganda's State House. They can abuse all they want but such people will never rule this country."
His sudden change of heart took many by surprise and in another clip he let the cat out of the bag;
"We sat in the meeting and I was told what I did was wrong. I was told the Land grabbers are particular and not a tribe. I was asked to apologise to all westerners who are over 3m people. Whoever wants to make peace and harmony should apologise and that's what I did."

This is where the gist of the matter. Basajjamivule must have been psychologically tortured into accepting to 'repent' instead of long detention on criminal charges of inciting violence and promoting sectarianism.
In another video clip he appealed to Balaam Barugahare who is re-known for luring critics and opposition leaning activists into the Museveni camp, to take him (Mivule) to meet Museveni.
"Balaam, I know you are watching this video. Please take me to Museveni and he gives me a big brand new car and some money to complete my house. I want you to give me my defection package in front of cameras when everyone is watching."
On August 31, a well attended press conference witnessed Basajjamivule sign an MOU with the said Balaam where Mivule declared total loyalty to Museveni. During the same function Mivule hypocritically declared that;
"I am not joining NRM though but I am coming to work with Museveni."
He attacked Bobi Wine whom he described as a small God and PP/NUP which he accused of being synonymous with homosexuals and drug abusers before warning their parents to keep their teenage children from the same group. He asked for logistical facilitation of two vehicles from Museveni for use in what he described as detoxication of the anti-regime propaganda by PP/NUP.
This development is just a continuation of Museveni's three decades plus old sinister scheme to subdue Buganda and the Baganda. It started when Museveni systematically destroyed the Kayiira led UFM armed group in the early 1980s when Museveni took UFM's cache of arms and Commander to the NRA. Since then, Museveni has orchestrated a campaign to destroy Buganda's political, economic and social fabrics. He is yet to come to the reality that Bobi Wine and PP/NUP is resurrecting Buganda nationalism. For the likes of Basajjamivule to awaken the Baganda about the said sinister schemes, Museveni had to act.

Just a few days ago Museveni warned against this Buganda nationalism;
"Now, if you hear a Muganda talking: ffe Abaganda, ffe Abaganda, free Abaganda, you know he is an enemy of Baganda number one, and secondly an enemy of Uganda and enemy of Africa and we shall crash those enemies as we have done in the past. You preach your nonsense, we shall answer you by word and if you go beyond word and you want something else, you will also get it........It is not enough to shut them up, it is also good to defeat their logic clearly. If they go beyond argument and try to do things, of course we shall deal with them."
Therefore, Basajjamivule has now gone beyond word and wants a logistical facilitation and he will get it. He has been politically crushed.
INFORMATION IS POWER AND THE PROBLEM OF UGANDA IS MUSEVENISM
