WHY MUSEVENI'S ARMY IS AGAINST BAGANDA NRM CONTENSTANTS IN ENTEBBE MUNICIPALITY ELECTIONS

By CHANGE OF GUARDS

After humiliatingly losing in Buganda, Museveni has lost trust in any Muganda contenstant on the NRM ticket for the local government elective positions.  That is why he has unleashed his soldiers and other security agencies to take charge of elections in the municipality which is the seat of his State House.  Consequently, they grabbed voters Registers from polling agents and took over management of the electoral process in the municipality.

The municipality's mayoral race has attracted six candidates from different political parties and independents.  Five of these contenstants are Baganda while the sixth contenstant, Fabrice Rulinda (independent), who is highly connected to the regime, is a Munyarwanda.  That is why even the NRM flagbearer for the Entebbe Municipality mayoral race, Michael Kabwama Mutebi is also crying foul.

           "Army officers have kept on sabotaging my campaigns until Election Day in favour of my  political opponent. The army has no mandate to control these elections.  They have intimidated my agents, but no one is above the law",  he said after casting his vote at Kitubulu Playground in Katabi.

The incumbent Mayor (DP), Kayanja Paul also lamented;

     "We have a challenge in polling areas that have soldiers as voters. These army officers are trampling on the rights and powers of Polling Agents people and their candidates. This intimidation must stop,” Mr Kayanja charged.

It is in the same regard that in Masaka, NRM's Hajji Kiyimba (pictured) is facing the wrath of the regime's security goons.

Entebbe Municipality is the seat of Museveni's State House and therefore its leadership is of higher interest to the regime.  The incumbent MP is another Munyarwanda, Rosemary Tumusiime Bikaako who has just disappointingly lost to NUP's Michael Kakembo.  She had lost in the NRM primaries to another Munyarwanda, Stephen Syaka Gashaija.  In 2016, her victory was challenged by then DP's Michael Kakembo who lost the petition and went to prison for failure to pay costs of Shillings 100m.  During the January 14, 2021 polls, Kakembo contested on the NUP ticket and beat both the NRM flagbearer, Shyaka Gashaija and the incumbent, Rosemary Tumusiime.  The incumbent municipality Mayor is DP's Paul Kayanja.

Museveni's State House and his SFC in particular, wants its own, Fabrice Rulinda to take the position of Entebbe Municipality mayoral position.

INFORMATION IS POWER AND THE PROBLEM OF UGANDA IS MUSEVENISM
