UGANDA: What to expect from Museveni newly passed out LDUs

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM MUSEVENI'S NEWLY PASSED OUT 'LDUs'

CHANGE OF GUARDS - Last week, Uganda's military dictator presided oversaw the pass out of soldiers whom he calls Local Defence Units (LDU) personnel. The eight battalions (6,500) batch that completed a 16 weeks basic military training by the army is to be armed and deployed in urban centres of greater Kampala city that includes Entebbe, Wakiso and Mukono.

During their pass out Museveni stated that;
"...........But because these technical means were taking time, I decided that we make use of these youth to enlist their support by way of training to defend their country. They have been here for only 16 weeks but are now very good soldiers. This shows you that with our 40 million people, nobody can bring insecurity because we now have the capacity to keep peace."

This scheme is just another in a series of Museveni's gambling at fixing the security breakdown.

A few months ago,  Museveni unleashed the military in the said urban centres to terrorize the population into submission. They have been carrying out the harassment, arrests and extortion on their victims. They mainly target the youthful urban dwellers whom the regime perceives as potential agents of regime change. Imagine the army whose mandate is to protect the sovereignty of the state has been harassing these youthful revellers even at beaches (see photos) in an effort to regulate their private lives!!

This is not the first time the scheme of LDUs has been put in place. In the past, they were all over the country and they proved to be a big security menace before they were abandoned with dire consequences. Therefore the newly passed out 'LDUs' who will be under the command of the army are to reinforce the enhancement of the ongoing reign of terror.

INFORMATION IS POWER AND THE PROBLEM OF UGANDA IS MUSEVENISM
