UGANDA: Why arbitrary shooting dead of "armed robbers" should worry all Ugandans

WHY ARBITRARY SHOOTING DEAD OF 'ARMED ROBBERS' SHOULD WORRY UGANDANS

CHANGE OF GUARDS - It has become a norm for Museveni's security forces to just shoot and kill Ugandans at will on allegations that they are armed robbers. That trend should worry any right thinking member of society as nobody is safe since anybody can be shot dead and thereafter branded an armed robber or terrorist.

The latest such incident was in Mbarara town where the police Flying Squad just shot someone they branded an armed robber.
“Today, the thugs were able to be tracked by Flying Squad of Mbarara with the help of a team from Kampala. During the operation, one Mbaine Yonasani aged 40 years old, born of Bushenyi Ishaka was put out of action and an SMG UG PSO 340235607221 with two rounds of ammunition recovered,”
Such guns marked UG are from the army and assembled at the Army factory in Nakasongola.

Just last week Museveni's Internal Security Organization (ISO) shot dead two people including their own operative, Bright Turyatunga who also doubled as a member of the elite Special Forces Command (SFC). According to ISO, the murdered two were part of a gang that planned to rob cash in transit belonging to Stanbic Bank. ISO concedes that it got information about the ploy two days in advance but does not say what their plan of action was. One wonders why the robbers had to wait all the way from the remote areas of Kayunga and Mukono but only decided to rob the money at Kyambogo in the city!! Moreover, ISO claims that there was connivance with workers of the private security company that was carrying the money.

The answer to the above puzzle lies in the fact that upon inspection later by a joint team of the bank and ISO officials, a total of 600m shillings was found missing. The bullion van and its 3b shillings cash had been evacuated from the scene of crime and kept in the custody of ISO. Obviously, the 600m was stollen from ISO offices by its own staff members. Their slain operative was deliberately silenced to coverup their hidden motive. Otherwise, what help did ISO render - people are killed and 600m shillings is lost!! This is what happened to the Susan Magara kidnap incident where the victim was killed and the 700m shillings ransom money taken.

Around January 2019, the police in Jinja shot dead two people suspected of plotting to rob cash from a fish trader. The police claimed to have recovered an AK 47 gun with 30 rounds. An AK 47 gun magazine carries 30 bullets thus the robbers never fired any bullets at the police. These guns are always available for Museveni's security officers to frame victims. You may recall the Arua shooting incident where the police displayed guns that they claimed had been found in possession of Hon. Kyagulanyi. Shortly after, they had to ashamedly drop the charges.

Just take a look at an incident involving the South African police and suspected armed robbers last month in Cape Town.

Police Shoot Out Tyres Of Cigarette Robbers After Chase In Cape Town

Police spokesperson Capt FC van Wyk said members of the national intervention unit were patrolling the highway in search of the suspects who had targeted a cigarette delivery truck.
“This delivery vehicle was targeted for an armed robbery but the perpetrators’ plans were uncovered when police stopped and arrested the suspects” in a Quantum. A white Mercedes-Benz sped away.
Van Wyk said the unit spotted the Mercedes C180 and gave chase. Officers instructed the men to pull over on the corners of the N2 off-ramp and Borchards Quarry but had guns pointed at them.

“The police members fired two shots with an R5 rifle into the rear tyres of the Mercedes and the vehicle was brought to a standstill‚” said Van Wyk.

Five men aged between 31 and 45 were taken to Woodstock police station and charged with armed robbery‚ possession of firearms and pointing a firearm. They are expected to appear in court soon.

For Museveni and his security machinery, their scheme is to create and sustain an atmosphere of fear in the population.

INFORMATION IS POWER AND THE PROBLEM OF UGANDA IS MUSEVENISM
